I wanted bigger curls ala Game of Thrones' Khaleesi, but ended up with crispy Indomie :D

Remember the Godfather? God of Gamblers? What do they have in common?

The cool slicked back hair style.

SC wanted it so bad, but it is really not easy to create.

We tried putting on various gel, cream and 定型...and it wouldn't stay in place!

Finally SC used his good ol' Brylcreem and it did the best job so far.

SC無啦啦想整返個, 但係真係唔係咁易整..
用左唔同既gel, cream, 定型水, 都冇用..

Baby Marcus' Bed Head 時尚摩登的傲B...

 
I just learnt that babies sweat so much during their sleep. Baby Marcus' hair gets soaking wet when he sleeps. It gets so wet, we have to line his pillow with a towel. The plus side is...he gets up with this super fierce tousled hair style.
BB訓覺, 冒水冬瓜. 傲B都一樣, 次次訓醒覺都好似遊完水咁, 成頭濕晒. 之前以為佢有病, 好擔心, 問問老人家先知個個細個都係咁的..濕還濕, 但係佢濕都可以濕得咁有型...(無言)

Baby Marcus' Dreadlocks

What made us think that our helper put baby Marcus so much in his chair?

These dreadlocks that formed at the back of his dead as a result of sitting on his chair, rubbing the back of his head against the chair for so long...

...sigh...

We can't blame her. She has loads to do. Taking care of baby Marcus, dealing with household shit...This is why we asked SC's mom to visit baby Marcus often (she does at least twice a day) so that he gets enough play time during the day when SC and I are both at work.

Help! There are Birds on My Top!

Heheheh, sorry for being too much of a drama queen. My sister, miss chubby chic, who normally is supportive of me buying anything I liked, tried to stop me from getting this top from the thrift store. It's too surreal. She was not convinced that I could pull it off. She is right. I can't give this top an edge. I can only wear it the same way I always wear my outfits. Belted with skirt. Boohoo. Opps. Sorry for not being so creative.

Oh, and this is my hair without any hair product whatsoever. It is still huge and it is still curly. I love how low maintenance it is so far ^_^

My Newly Curled & Colored Hair!

Finally! After over a year living with a head of seriously chemical free bad gray hair...

I got my big hair now. Yes!

What did I have to go through to get the hair?
Four hours of trimming, curling, & coloring...does this look painful?


It wasn't as bad as it looked...

I had a delicious lunch delivered from a nearby Vietnamese eatery (pork neck with eggs and beef soup and coffee), and I watched Step Up 3 and the Mirrors. Time flies when you're having fun.

When all the curlers had been released...

...the gray hair almost looked like highlights, right?

I need to give my stylist, Ah Lam, a shout out. He specializes in Japanese hairstyle for girls. Unlike most stylists I've worked with, he understands exactly what I need (big puffy hair), he teaches us how to style our hair meticulously, he offers to trim my fringe free of charge and he never tries to flatten my hair (you won't believe how many stylists have done this to me). It's Monday.
It's cold.
It's so hard to get out of bed!

...and my hair, especially the fringe, is driving me crazy!
It pissed me off so much, I decided to just put on a hair band to get rid of them.
Something red to cheer this gloomy Monday up.

What's under the mostly black boring work ensemble?

Some blues and some reds.

The highlight of my outfit today?

This pair of Chinese shoes from some random souvenir shop in Central, I bought them for just HK$59 a pair!

Messy Bob - Classic Hair Cut for New Moms

I love my old hair style...

It's the remnants of the curly short bob I had...

The bit of curls at the end made styling very easy.

Bundle everything into a low bun and I'd get pretty bottom curls.
The fringe is a problem though...the expert stylist knew I cut my own messy fringe the moment he saw it.
Opps...

I had to let the medium length hair go as lil' Marcus can now grab my hair...
Plus, my hair always gets in the way and I have to live with an ugly pony tail most of the time...
So, it's time to do something about it.
The stylist recommended the most popular style for new moms...
...the messy bob.

I know I look better with longer, curlier hair...but this has to do for now :)

Please excuse the grays...I won't be able to do any chemicals until at least 6 months later.

The stylist taught me how to easily replicate what he did...let's see if I could do it ^_^'

SC Needs A Haircut

SC's hair has grown so much...

His stylist recommended curly bob (is there such a thing for boys?) and he's gonna have his hair done on Friday.

Half Ponytail for Boys

I always had a thing for boys with long-ish hair.
Luckily, SC is in the mood for keeping longer hair, and you know how shameless adventurous he is with hair, fashion, or even make up ;)
Lucky me.
This time, it was his own idea...he always wanted to have a pony tail, but his hair isn't long enough yet...

So, half a pony tail.
I kinda like it.
Stylish and practical.
It also helps keeping annoying hair from poking his eyes.

Boy's Curls

Girls, we aren't the only ones who have to and willing to suffer for beauty.
Check out sc's "before" hair.
It used to be beautifully curled, and now...
Was it just me? Or did he really look like he was wearing a bra on top of his head?
Even sc himself referred to this hair style as a head of cabbage.

All he needed was a trim, but he refused. He wanted to grow his hair longer so that he could have the ultimate curls. Finally, he went for it.

He scribbled down the stylist's address in a hurry...it's no calligraphy...

...and it's incomprehensible. Even sc himself could not decipher his handwriting sometimes.
Fortunately I still remember how to get there.

We consulted the stylist, finally agreed on a style...

....and let the suffering begin!
I left sc alone and went for a little shopping...without sc's eagle eyes prying over my every single purchase. Yay! Hello H&M~ It's been a while.

SC sat...had his hair pulled and twisted and electricuted...


More pulling, more twisting...

...and five hours later...
Voila!

Camera and lens matter.

I am not kidding!

The leftover coloring from a few months ago define the curls nicely.


From cabbage to instant noodles...we like instant noodles.

Now, his stylist told him not to wash his hair every day.
I taught him the perfect way to protect his hair from water in a very manly way...

Shower caps don't make anyone less of a man, right?
Just wear it with fierce expression.

Just like my perpetual quest for a pair of comfy heels, sc has his eternal quest for the perfect hair product...

Numerous trial and errors...

One recommendation after another...
HK$10 to HK$200 a tube/jar...
He ended up with 10 different hair products he hardly even use.

Just like me and my countless pairs of heels I hardly wear.
