Homemade DIY Christmas Craft For Kids

We made these fun things as a part of OB's Christmas homework.
Obviously, mommy had more fun than him :)
Christmas Craft
This one's made of used folder cut into shape and decorated with multicolor round stickers. The star is cut out of a clean menu from a restaurant.
OB had lots of fun adding the colorful baubles all over the tree.

Christmas Craft
These are made of used box and the remaining of the folder :)

Kid's Crown Craft
The crown is made of the rest of the folder, decorated with the same stickers.
Kid's Crown Craft
Simply attach rubber band at the back of the crown to fit any size comfortably.

Did you make anything this Christmas? Show me, show me.

My Boys Shop IKEA

My little dude gets this super fun traffic rug.

He absolutely loves it! He placed all his car toys & built little buildings using his lego. Great buy!

The bigger boy gets a bed table which we should be able to use for laptops, tablets, or breakfast in bed.

Loveee shopping at IKEA :)
Happy weekend, everyone!

Easy & Pretty Storage Necklace

I have a confession to make. I buy necklaces, I buy lots and lots of necklaces.
But I almost NEVER wear them.
One of the reasons is because they are all tangled together into a huge pile of monstrous mess and I hardly can see all of the necklaces that I have.

I saw this necklace storage solution a few times on Pinterest and thought that it is pretty cool, it works, and it's totally doable! So went ahead and did it.

This way, each necklace will have its own hook, the possibility of them getting tangled together is dramatically reduced, and I can look at all of them - it does NOT make choosing easier though :p

Plus, it makes use of my corridor and it looks pretty.

All I had to do was to purchase cheap kitchen railings and hooks from IKEA and get them installed.
This works like magic for me... maybe until I bought many more necklaces I don't need :)

DIY Repurposed Upcycled Home Decor & Toy - Happy World Environment Day

Some of the fun repurposed/upcycled things in our little home :)

Apart from not letting things go to waste, we adore the rustic aesthetics of repurposed things & doing these projects helps keeping our creative juices flowing too!

Our little king.

DIY Home Decor Toy Recycle Repurpose Upcycle

This is made of cardboard from a toy box with shredded & crunched brochure.

So easy & so fun.

The feature wall in our flat.

The most left is a map from Skyrim (SC's an avid gamer), crunched up and fitted into a cheap frame. We also use cutouts from old magazine, an old postcard, and accessories that I don't frequently wear anymore. They look great on the wall!

Magazine cutouts make really cute wall art :)

This is a super old & unused table lamp we found in SC's grandma's place in China.

We simply changed the bulb and use it.

Works perfectly & look oh-so-good!

My favorite. Kowloon Dairy milk glass bottles.

Home Sweet Home

I found a vintage photo frame that's perfect for my door, drew a lil something on it & my home signage is done.

I wanted a message board at our workstation & finally filled it with our goals. You like?

A "keep calm & take a bath" with a little duckie & a post card of a Turkish princess for the bathroom.

Cheap & easy. Very me. Heheheh.

Flat Renovation Progress

We want our flat to be old skool and classic, and we want to achieve that with least possible amount of money ^_^
On the contrary to my previous flat, which was super colorful, this time I want it in more neutral colors.

Here are some details that I look forward to in the new flat.
Bathroom hardware

Ceiling fan + light

Main door handle. I can't stand the rose gold "antique" finish, so we painted them black.

Open kitchen. Too bad there's no bar. There's going to be a TV resting against that half a wall. Too bad, but no choice :(

Bathroom floor. I've always wanted this since... forever!

Hong Kong old skool cafe floor tiles.

Faux exposed brick wall. We're gonna have this hand painted in white because the flat is gonna be too dark if we kept this color. Sad but no choice T_T

I'll post more updates later (remind me?), and here's more pics of the reno progress and the "before" pics.

New Flat - Before & Reno Progress

I am officially the worst life blogger ever.  I haven't been blogging much about my life despite so many things that had happened. One major one that has been taking a lot of our time and resources is the purchase of our new flat. We purchased it quite a while ago and we are currently in the process of renovating it. We pretty much had to remove everything and redo everything from scratch as it is quite an old flat. We are using SC's secondary school friend's design firm. They are super pro and have saved us a lot of headaches in terms of project management.

Here are some of the "before" pics:

SC's mom has also done a Chinese four-corner ceremony for us.
If you wanna check out more "before" pics, I've posted them on my facebook page
I'll post more renovation progress later ;)

Alexander McQueen Shoe Wish
Look what I've found in a vintage shop.
Want!
Too bad they don't fit me :(
I want the floor too, for my new kitchen or bathroom.
Hope I can still find something like that.

Perfect for me.

Pretty in Pink

Pink Porcelain & Glass Containers
I am a sucker for pretty glass and porcelain containers...and look what I've bought!
The two glass containers are from Franc Franc, they were on sale!...and the heart shaped porcelain container with roses is from a random Hong Kong souvenir shop in one of those lanes of Central.
All cheap, they prettify my home (that's not even a word?) and they keep my rubbish... disorganized (as I forgot what I put in them) ^_^'

My Precious Bottles

My Previous Bottles
Love these bottles so much...

From left to right, back row
Vintage inspired thermos I got from a local store for HK$40, spring water bottle from Bali, vitasoy bottle, Japanese marble soda bottle, sprite, cream soda, orange fanta and classic coke bottle, local milk bottle to keep my plants in...

I wanna collect more classic bottles from places which are close to my heart. Next target, classic Teh Botol glass bottle.

Lil' sis, please bring me one from Indo...

Crib & Stroller for Lil' SC

Crib & Stroller Delivery
Finally! Lil' SC gets more stuff! He won't be sleeping on the sofa and travel in a shopping basket :D

Based on a good friend's recommendation, we got this travel crib from Toys 'R Us on sale :D
Crib & Stroller Delivery
It could be a bassinet, the mattress could be lower then lil' SC is bigger, and there's a changing station on it too! We've rearranged our furniture to make room for lil' SC and our helper, more updates on this later...and no, we don't plan to put lil' SC in the living room or kitchen :D

The crib could be packed into this tiny thing...and no one's happier to play than the big SC.
Crib & Stroller Delivery
Boys!

Big SC never has interest in dressing up lil' SC. Lil' SC can grow up in only diaper and singlets if possible...but stroller? Stroller is verrrryyy important for the father (to play).
Crib & Stroller Delivery
Is it light? check! Does it turn 360 degree? Yes! Does the handle flip from one side to another? Yup! Does it fold and open easily? Ya ha~!
Is the color pretty? (SC sez: Who the heck cares!)

Look how happy he is playing with the stroller's "features"...our first Harrods kitten was abused to the max to model for SC...
Crib & Stroller Delivery
...and SC's dancing with joy, loving his foldable crib and his cool stroller...

I'll work on making sure lil' SC won't be growing up naked :D
That's what moms are for ;)
