It was too hot to stay too long...but despite the sun burn and the 40something mosquito bites SC had, we had a lot of fun ^_^

More Hong Kong Summer Rain Photos

More Hong Kong Summer Rain
The black rainstorm signal was hoisted yesterday around 05.35 pm...which means that we have to stay in a safe place (e.g. the office). SC and I were too impatient to wait for the signal to be removed, so we braved the rain and went home anyway.

More Hong Kong Summer Rain
My bun-in-the-oven and I took extra care, walked extra slowly and carefully...we reached the train station safely and when I reached home...whoa...there's almost no more rain at all.

All I saw was a beautiful scene of the almost sunset through my windows, which were still sprinkled with raindrops...

It was too pretty not to photograph.

I Want This on My Wall

I want one of these on my wall. Where do I get one?

Say It with Flowers - Hello Kitty Bouquet for Mom?

Say "I Love You" to mum with flowers, hope she won't say "That's such a waste of money! Here, let me teach you how to plant your own flowers and keep them alive". If the celebrating mum is into Hello Kitty, Yume florist (Central MTR Station near exit J) has just the bouquet for her.

His vs Hers - Scents which Made Me Go Hmmmm

Hers:
(clockwise from top left) Deep Red by Hugo Boss, Healing Garden's Green Tea Therapy body mist, GAP Scent "Dream", Kenzo Flower, Marc Jacobs' Blush, Acqua di Gio, Marc Jacobs, L'eau Par Kenzo
Total = 8 bottles

Normally, I am not a huge perfume fan. I'd buy a couple which I really love and stick with them for-almost-ever. But there was a short period of time when I was surrounded by perfume loving friends, I was indeed influenced (not in a negative way), and gathered quite a collection of scents. Now I am left with 8 bottles of scents, most of them almost empty. Time for spring scent shopping? Oh yeah. Let's see how sous chef's collection.

His:
(clockwise from top left) Body Shop's "Of A Man", Soul by Hugo Boss, L'eau d'Issey pour homme, Jazz by YSL, Tommy by Tommy Hilfiger, Chic for men by Carolina Herrera, Eternity Summer by Calvin Klein, Aigner, YSL Paris
Total = 9 bottles (WINNER!)

Quite an extensive collection of scents for a guy, eh? What is he? Metro? That was then, when he had to attract the ladies with some expensive scents. Now, he thinks that his natural scent, along with some garlic/onion scents from restaurant fumes = the sweetest scent in the universe. The 9 bottles...are pretty much abandoned.

Scents which Made Me Go Hmmm...
Summer

L'eau par Kenzo: I love that it is very light, refreshing, floral, watermelony and not citrusy. Citrusy scents smell like vinegar on me, especially in summer. Ew!

Blush by Marc Jacobs: It smells like jasmine in a wonderful way (not funeral-ish way), modern, young and expensive.

Winter

Marc Jacobs: it is rich, yet not overwhelming. Elegant, yet not old. It reminds me of home (I have a garden of tuberosa/bunga sedap malam at my rooftop back home in Indonesia), and it is super long lasting.

Scents for Men which Make Me Go Crazy
Crazy? How crazy? Ripping his clothes off? You wish. Haha
These scents attract me so much, they made me sniff around a bus to find the source of the scent, they made me follow the person with the scent without realizing it...they are DANGEROUS (at least for me)!

Of a Man, from The Body Shop: It is quite sweet, but still masculine. I guess only real men could pull this off ;)

Tommy by Tommy Hilfiger: This is the scent that totally kills me. Spray this on a frog and it'd look like a prince charming to me.

I told you it's dangerous.

Spring Floral & My New Lunch Nook

I found a new lunch nook at Hong Kong park! Yay!

Previously, I mentioned that weekday lunch at Hong Kong CBD is a bitch. This is why I generally pack my own lunch or buying take aways and gobble them down in the office. But, there were times when I just had to get out of the office for some fresh air...this is where cozy nooks come in handy.

Hong Kong park at lunch is loitered by cubicle dwellers who don't wish to queue for seats in crowded restaurants for some crappy food, who just wanna enjoy the view, the warmth of the sun, to see and to be seen. Thus, it gets harder to find an empty bench these days.

Glad I found this huge amphiteather at the corner. Plenty of seats, huge portion of the place is shaded from harsh sunlight...it's perfect for 18-23C spring, and if you're lucky, you might get to see girls in micro miniskirts climbing up to the top of the stairs (What were they thinking? But who cares? Just enjoy the view ^_^ - I was talking about that girl with the guy in blue, who finally realized that her ass was showing, and covered up with the guy's jacket)

One of my favorite spring outfits:
- Dress = chiffon floral dress (I had to wear underskirt/satin sleepwear bottom underneath the dress, as the material is see through), from Argyle Centre, HK$59
- Belt = yellow stretchy belt with bow buckle, from Orange, Jakarta
- Scarf, shoes, bag = remixed

Flower beige gold earrings = from Forever 21, Jakarta

Detail of the belt. I love love love it.

Metrosexually Hong Kong

HK boys are so metro:

- They spend hours in the morning molding their hair into porcupine-like sculptures
- They carry brandname purses (LV messenger bag, gucci tote bags, come on!)
- They wear dangling earrings
- They wear PINK all the time
- They wear tight fitted shirts with floral patterns
- They own more than 5 different bottles of perfume
- They have hello kitty thingy dangling off their purses
- I am not allowed to touch their hair
- The possibility of wearing a baseball cap scared the heck outta them, as it will ruin the hair
- They roam around Mong Kok's Trendy Zone, browsing hello kitties and my melodies
- They shrieked "hoooo cuteeeee arrrr!" at cutesy things, including hello kitties and my melodies
- I thought they were all gay until I saw them groping their girlfriend

I've posted this as a comment on Nury Vittachi's article "The Questions Men Won't Answer".

Thanking my model for wearing such a metrosexual outfit and willingness to pose against a super pink wall. The post does not describe the model in particular, it is about Hong Kong boys in general.
