SC Wearing My Uniqlo Pant Leggings

SC wearing my uniqlo pant leggings
Busy busy busy.
So many projects to manage.

SC wearing my uniqlo pant leggings
Or was he just posting stuff on Facebook?

Anyway, the pant leggings (jeggings?) were comfy, look so much like real jeans, and it seems like they fit him well too. Too bad there's no front pockets.

Spicing Up Promotional Tees - 自制TSHIRT

I spent last week and a few days in KL for work. My colleagues and I spent most of our time in the exhibition hall, clad in promotional tees. This is how my chic Bangkok colleagues and I spiced up our promotional tees.
上星期係馬拉做野, 企展位企左成個星期, 下面就係我D戰友
Spicing Up Promotional Tees
Vintage glasses, artsy facial hair, colorful flowy cardigan, a stylish pouch/sling bag to keep phones etc, headbands, leopard print blazer (on me, from Cotton On), cute promotional badges (very 80s!), sexy pin striped suit jacket on skinny jeans...plus...cute Asian poses!
個個都有唔同既style, 真係好正!

I love my Bangkok colleagues' style. Super chic!
我個泰國同事都係著得好潮!

Better Late Than Never - Joining #365FASHIONSHUFFLE

Boring Work Combo
I've decided to join this cool project, #365FASHIONRESHUFFLE which is quite a commitment, since we all know that I have good days, bad days, worse days and shit days. I normally post what I think are good days, and sometimes, when I was hit by a crazy stick, I'd wanna share my shit days.

I'll try my best and see how many good, bad, worse and shit I have ;)
Wish me luck!

This is a super boring combo I wear today to work. I hardly wear mostly grays or blacks but decided to do so today, as I have a business meeting scheduled.

I love this jacket (today it's a cold day), and will post details of this jacket later ;)
Boring Work Combo
Top = thrifted
Striped long baggy sweater dress and scarf = Kwai Chung Plaza

Self Dressed SC

Does SC dress outrageously just like what you see here, daily?
Nope. He does go to work rotating pretty much the same office shirts for 5 days, with plain black pants and a pair of office shoes.
The same thing one week after another...until the shirts get broken and he has to buy replacements ^_^

What happens if you asked SC to dress nicely, without my interference?
What's SC's idea of "nicely dressed"?

This is it!

On SC:
- Stage of Playlord shirt
- Louis Vuitton necktie (yes, LV. and I don't know how much it costs, it was a gift?)
- Chocoolate black skinny pants
- G2000 belt
- Salem black boots with gold buckle
- "Man purse" from Bauhaus
- No brand hair band. Because hair on eyes drives him nuts
- Either he forgot to wear his "man jewelries" (earrings, necklace, bracelet, ring) or he didn't intend to wear any

Did you notice that his color of choice is mostly black?
You like?

Update: when we were told to wear our company's promotional polo tee...

I kinda like the multilayer look :D with tie and all

Boring, Uninspired Work Combo

Ugh. How boring is this. Very uninspired.

Black-black-black with neutral colored skirt...I should've used some pops of colors on the necklace, shoes or maybe a pair of tights.

Top, skirt & necklace = H&M
Cardi = Fa Yuen St Market
Shoes = Scholl at Sogo
Watch = Patrick Cox

Sweet Friday

Major reasons to be happy:
1. It's Friday!
2. Going to try out a fab French restaurant tonight
3. An important decision has been made, awaiting execution (ohhh what is it? what is it?)
4. Waking up having absolutely no idea on what to wear, finally ended up liking my outfit.

Kinda sweet & comfy, don't you think? No belt today. I need some space for loads of French yummilities later.

Top = Fa Yuen St Market
Skirt = Cotton On, HK$50
Shoes = Vincci, Kuala Lumpur, RM19
Necklace = Kwai Chung Plaza, HK$20

Blue on Anything - Work in Colors

I am not sure how colorful people normally get at work.
Here, the boys are normally in monochrome black grey white or blue...and the girls...ditto.
I am one of the few who would show up at work in multicolor.

I guess I interpret "business attire" a little too loosely, but until HR didn't say anything...if it ain't broke, don't fix it hehe

Dress = H&M, HK$69
Belt = H&M, forgot the price, but I am sure I've blogged about it before :p
Cardigan = Fa Yuen St Market, HK$39
Shoes = Union, HK$200
Watch = Patrick Cox, forgot the price...HK$1999?

Scarf or No Scarf? Outfit Phototaking Ritual - Morning, Noon or Night?

I used to take pictures of my outfit after work. Because...frankly? I can't afford to spare even a few seconds of my weekday mornings to take photographs of my outfits.
I'd be late every day, and reprimand/warning letters aren't exactly love letters ;)

The challenge with taking pictures after work?
- Outfits get ruined by sweat/stains of food from lunch/slouching in front of computer whole day
- Make Up = gone with the wind
- Hair = all limp and oily

Thus, I tried waking up 10 minutes earlier so I can do things slowly, with a few seconds to spare and take photographs of my outfit (time is limited, this is why you see the same poses & backgrounds again and again, I can experience more on weekends, but I'd probably choose to sleep or play hehe)

I wore two different versions of this outfit:
1. With commute-friendly flats, no scarf (too hot)
2. With heels - in the office, with scarf (surviving office AC)

Top = Oh gosh, where did I buy this top?
Skirt = Cotton On
Heels = Argyle Center
Flats = Kwai Chung Plaza
Belt = Orange, Jakarta
Scarf = gift from a friend

Easy Geometry - Post Typhoon Greetings

Last year, we had 2.5 days off from typhoon signal 8 or above.
We haven't had any.

This year, the typhoons seem to have a pattern of reaching signal 8 during the night and gone in the morning. Last night was the second time!

It's probably great for the economy, financial market, the students who were waiting for examination results and those people whose income depend of each day's work, but cubicle dwellers surely didn't feel too happy.

The night before...
- Everybody were arguing that the typhoon would stay until today, each one quoting a source which they claimed to be more accurate than others
- Some people stayed up really late thinking they'd have a day off today
- Some people stayed up really late tracking the typhoon, wondering if they'd have a day off today
- Some people were planning what to do if they had a day off
- Some people already started feeling gloomy, almost feeling sure that they wouldn't have a day off today, but still refreshing HK observatory website every few seconds (the website is updated every hour la~!)
- Some people kept saying to themselves that there would be no day off today, hoping to get a reversed effect
- Some people were telling others to do a naked typhoon dance to make the typhoon stay (this person is not me!)

Despite everything, when I woke up from the bright sunlight this morning, I knew that I had to go to work.

I saw black and long faces everywhere, walking to the MTR station, buying breakfast, getting coffee, grabbing free newspapers, cursing the weather under their breath.

Here's a conversation I heard in the elevator this morning.
Man: Are you disappointed?
Woman: Very.

We all knew what they were referring to, and we felt it too *grin*

Ironically, I felt especially chirpy this morning, put on one of my old favorite summer dresses, belted it and headed to work.

My boss is gonna be out of town for a while. HAHA!

Dress = Lady Story, Hong Kong
Belt = Orange, Jakarta
Shoes = Vincci, Kuala Lumpur

Ridiculously Silly - My Morning Work Ritual

I wonder...
Is it just me? Has anyone else ever been this silly?

Sometimes when I get so swamped at work...(excuse)
Hell, even if I wasn't so busy at work, I do this ridiculously silly thing.

I plug my earphones on...without even playing any music on my computer.
Sometimes, the earphones aren't even connected to the computer!!!

I know that some people might put on earphones to give the illusion of listening to music at work, while what they were really listening were...other's conversations.

I can't say that I haven't done that...but these days, that wasn't my intention.
It's pure stupidity.

After booting up my laptop at work, I'd automatically reach for the earphones, put em on and started my morning ritual:
- Quickly read the headlines of my free morning paper while having my breakfast + coffee
- Open office email
- Open official instant messaging system
- Open non official instant messaging system
- Open gmail
- Open flickr
- Open google reader
- Open BoF related blogs
- Open Windows Media Player/imeem to listen to current favorite songs
...start working and multitask the heck outta the day.

Most of the times, I'd forget to open windows media player/imeem...and kept going...earphones on, without music...and would only realize it around lunch time, when my ears get a bit unfruitfully sore.

Somebody...please tell me that you've experienced this too T_T...

Blinding Ourselves Watching Solar Eclipse July 2009

When we heard that we'd be able to see partial solar eclipse from Hong Kong, we were cool.
None of us prepared and purchased the special "glasses" to view the eclipse.

But, when we heard that the next one will only happen after 300 years?
We all went nuts!

These bizzarre things happened at work this morning, around 9.30am.

We were trying to see the eclipse.
We heard that we should not look at the sun directly, it will blind us.
A colleague cleverly brought a video recorder, thinking that we could view the eclipse through it. Na ah, we were wrong. All we could see was the summer sun, as bright as always.

Another brave colleague tried to take pictures of the eclipse using his DSLR, even bravely risking blindness viewing the sun through the viewfinder...aiyaaa!
Finally he utilized the live view function of the DSLR, and yet...we couldn't see or capture the eclipse....

When I was young, there was moment where we could see a total solar eclipse in Indonesia, and we were told to see it from the reflection on a bucket of water. Luckily, before I tried to gather some water in my coffee cup to view the eclipse, another colleague saved the day.

It works! We could see it! We could see it! and we aren't blind!

What the heck was that? What were they using to view the eclipse?

Chips/snack wrapper.
It's simple, easy to get, and effective.
But above all...it smells delicious. ^_^

Ever so creative, M tried to record the eclipse using the foil as a filter for his DVD recorder.

It was a good fun. See you again in 300 yrs! ^_^

More info on the solar eclipse here and find out a better way to view it here.

Blue Black - Bad Hair Day

It's been a while since I put on anything black, despite how slimming, flexible and sophisticated it is. I just feel like black is not my color, it washes me out and made me look pale and unhealthy. I tried to add some colors (reds and yellows - earrings and sandals), but I still think black doesn't look quite right for me.

What do you think?

This is my other quick answer to bad hair days. Low side ponytail. It's not as heavy on my head as my shoulder helped bearing the weight, and it still frames my chubby face, at least on one side.

Tank = Giordano, circa 2001
Other than that, everything's remixed

Pale Pink

Wow. This ensemble doesn't look like my usual self.
But sometimes, I guess I wanna try playing grown up, pairing a pale pink cardigan with a muted colored pencil skirt.
Very ladylike, don't you think?

More Blues

Not so gloomy, but it reflected my mood yesterday.
Nothing's wrong but nothing felt right.

Classic mid week blues? Probably. Hope I'd feel better the next day.

I love the dress, I love the blue. Normally I'd pair such a dress with another color, such as cream or black from the lace, or something totally different like yellow or red. But yesterday, I was in full blue mood, so I paired the dress with a cardigan of the same color. Added my favorite cream and gold belt to accent my waist, and a faux pearl necklace for elegance. The punch of mustard on my feet hopefully added the bright cheerfulness this ensemble desperately needed.

Yellow and Green

During my stay in Hong Kong, I've learnt some funny phrases, such as "yellow and green doctors". These doctors don't cure your sickness, they are the kind of doctors covered by your company's insurance, the ones you go if you want a sickie, not exactly expecting them to cure anything other relieving you from a day of boredom/stress.

I've tried visiting one of these doctors when I was real sick, and gosh, it took me more than 3 visits to realize that he was giving me the same medicine again and again! I turned desperate, visited a paediatrician (!!!) who practices just beside this yellow and green doctor, was given the right medication and was cured shortly after.

So, I guess yellow and green isn't exactly a good color combo.

But I went for it anyway.

The dress is green chiffon with ruffle details on the chest, encircling the top of the dress all the way to the back. It has an elastic that cinches a few inches under the bust, which is flattering for me. It's from my favorite shop in Sunway Pyramid Mall, Kuala Lumpur, Discreet.

I bought the necklace in Denpasar Bali, for IDR 10,000. They're tiny green shells and silver beads, connected with an orange thread.

The purple and yellow shoes are from Vincci, Kuala Lumpur, RM 19.50. Don't they look great with my red nails?

Yellow and green, as long as not related to a doctor the day we are really sick, not too bad after all ^_^

Why I Love My Boss Sometimes

In a meeting with a potential supplier.
Supplier showing how high his company ranks in Hong Kong, along with an array of impressive clients.
My boss' response to that: "Hope that doesn't make you expensive"
Our clever supplier replied: "That makes us good"

I am so stealing those lines.

Mismatched Shoespidity

You know how committed I am to commuting. So, I kept a couple pairs of shoes at work, while I wear comfy sandals. This shoespidity happens to me ALL THE TIME.

On hectic days at work, I try not to go to bathroom too often, and many times when I really really really have to go, I'd quickly slip my feet into a pair of shoes, and dash to the bathroom, feeling slightly weird, but I couldn't point my finger on what....until I got to the bathroom, looked down and found that I was wearing mismatched shoes. No wonder I walked weird. Thank God for cubicles and people trying to look busy by staring intently into their computer monitors. My shoespidity always went unnoticed (although I normally go to visit my friends to show it off. Boy, I AM shameless).
