"Valentine's Day" Outfit? A Dangerous Dress

Early Bird Valentine Outfit - 12 Feb 2011
The outfit I wore to lunch on Saturday, Feb 12th.
Could we call the lunch the super early bird Valentine's day lunch?

There was no Valentine's day lunch set, we weren't lovey dovey (we were either playing with our own phones, or bitching about the food and everything, as any normal Hong Kong couple would), but I did wear something kinda pink that day.
Early Bird Valentine Outfit - 12 Feb 2011
My sis bought this dress from H&M, it was on crazy sale, cost me only HK$50(!!!) and it looked fabulous on hanger. We bought this without even thinking twice. When we got home, she tried it on and decided that it would suit me better. Thus, she left the dress to me.

I finally wore it and realized that it's a bit too loose around the chest and it's a bit too long for me. Plus, the weather, which was super cold by Hong Kong standard, didn't allow me to wear this dress on its own. I put on a romantic lacey thrifted shirt underneath and wore my Uniqlo hoodie on top of it.

That day I also realized that I didn't have a light colored coat. I made a mental note to buy one when SC's not watching ^_^
Early Bird Valentine Outfit - 12 Feb 2011
The dress got caught a lot in the chair of the restaurant, ruining some of the strands. Damn! I had to cover the seat of the chair with my napkin to prevent my dress from further unravelling. I don't think I'd wear this dress when I'd be require to sit down. Heheheh. The strands were also caught by the zipper of my purse, the zipper of my jacket, the zipper of SC's jacket. It's a miracle I still went home with most part of the dress still in place.

Hmmm...is this why the dress was sold at HK$50?

I took out my Celine purse that day.
Celine Bag
There's no space for my DSLR in this purse, so SC helped carrying my huge ass camera on his neck. We were stopped repeatedly by Indian guys offering tailor made suits, pirated watches and handbags...in Japanese. Arigato, but no thanks.

My current hair cut doesn't show earrings, which is why you don't see them in these pictures, but putting them on made me happy. I wore those pink ones from Forever 21.

Sweet Surprise - Cartolina App

Sorry about the sweetness overload that's about to happen.
Get your puke bags ready.

I emailed SC this super cool app to create pretty greetings...
...and he replied me back with this.
Sweet SC - Cartolina
Aw!
Damn. He's given me so much shit, I forgot that he could be kinda sweet ^_^

...and my reply?
sweet_sc
Heheheh...

What's up with the "Fu"?
That's just one of the 1,658,093 nicknames he created for me.

SC's Bday Gifts 2010

SC's Bday Gifts 2010
SC's bday is coming up and I had been squeezing every single brain cell that I have left (which is not much) thinking what to buy for him T_T...

First I thought of...something...anything related to iPhone. I thought of an iPhone stand/charger/speaker all-in-one. I tested SC's reaction to this idea by bringing him out shopping for one. He kept saying "What the heck would you want this for? You could play the songs through your computer, this is absolutely useless."

:S

...and he proceeded to think that I was the one who wanted the speaker, and probably was planning to buy me one for my bday in December.

FAIL.

I asked SC, if he wanted an iPad...he said no bloody way.

FAIL.
Again.

I didn't want to buy him any fashion-related stuff as it would be predictable, and I can't buy him any XBOX games as he normally buys second hand games and a brand new game would be overpriced and thus ridiculous for me to buy.

FAIL.
Again & again.

Finally, one fine evening, while waiting for dinner with friends, we came across HARE (Sale) in Miramar Shopping Center TST, and saw some trendy pants and overalls, on sale!
SC's Bday Gifts 2010
It reminded me that he has been wanting denim overalls forever, so I told him if the liked them, I'd buy him one as his bday gift. He tried the dark blue denim one (too conspicuous, too Super Mario Bros) and this grey one, which I thought was lovely, just a wee bit Super Mario-ish ;) but still cute and the length has a bit of an edge to it.

But...
SC's Bday Gifts 2010
He didn't want it!!!
We went to dinner without buying, and I felt heart broken as the gift situation has not been resolved.

Once we got home, I told him that since we'd be attending a party the next evening, it'd be nice to be able to wear the overalls...I haven't seen anyone wearing them yet, he could be the one!

I should've said these key words yesterday. As soon as he heard this, he couldn't wait to have the overalls. All he wanted was the overalls. He insisted that we go to the shop and buy the overalls before the party, and he'd wear it there and then, to the party. I told him to buy the next day...and OMG, he could NOT wait.

So we went, we bought, and he wore it to his bday party.

He is known as someone who is quite open-minded in terms of fashion, and some of our friends gave some fashionable items indeed...
SC's Bday Gifts 2010
Vincent and Amy bought him these fabulous gladiator sandals...

Carrie bought him this cool looking belt...
SC's Bday Gifts 2010

New parents Joe and Athena gave him this leg massager...
SC's Bday Gifts 2010
...for my benefit! :D heheheh

...and the ever so witty Sir A bought him this...
SC's Bday Gifts 2010
a laptop/book "table" from GOD. LOLs!

Hope this post could give you some ideas, in case you need to buy a gift for a guy.
I ain't easy ;)

Lunch Time Shopping

Bought this dress from Zara sale today lunch time :D
Love the color, love the neck, love the comfort and relaxed fit....and it's HK$199.

...too bad the "clothes hanger" talks too much.

He said I could only buy this if lil' SC moves/kicks while I put the dress on me.
What a nag!

Party Prep

Tomorrow we'll have some people over for a fake high tea at our place.
Our place looks like THIS!

What a freaking mess.
But naturally, SC doesn't care :D
He managed to secure a corner to do what he thought was the most important thing for tomorrow's gathering...

...what the heck was he doing?

Marking a set of monopoly deal cards.
He wants us to play tomorrow :S
Probably in the middle of that mess.

To our guests...good luck! ^_^'

BB Doctor Visit

We went for baby check up today.
Normally, it should be something to look forward to, right? Something to be excited about...but thanks to SC, the visit scares the shit outta me every single time.

Because...he always says that I've been gaining wayyy too much weight.

I did gain some weight from month #6 to month #7, so I really dreaded the moment I have to step on the scale at the doc's office.

I could already imagine that the doc will "lecture" me to watch what I eat and to exercise more. I was so scared, I even had a dream that I stepped onto the scale, and I weighed 290lbs!!! What a nightmare.

SC was so looking forward to seeing me being scolded by my doctor.
He was all smiles and whistles on the way to the doc's office, while I was shrunk into a tiny ball of guilt. Already preparing some excuses...
- ...but I didn't eat anything out of ordinary...
- ...but I walk a lot...
- ...I knew I'm wrong, doc...I promise not to do it again

Not only excuses, I went to the doc with minimum amount of clothing (just a t-shirt dress + my lightest flip flops) to keep myself as light as possible, and I kept my huge necklace, wrist watch and leggings in my bag, to be worn after my check up ^_*

So what happened when I stepped on that scale?
The nurse shouted out my weight to the doc...
Doc: OK, very well. Please go to the next room for ultrasound scan...

...SC's face was like...

He was so disappointed the doc didn't say anything about my weight.
He could've kept silent to minimize his embarrassment (to me), but he wouldn't...

SC: Doc, isn't she too heavy?
Doc: What? Noo...she just gained 4 lbs mah?
SC: *persistent* Isn't 4 lbs too much?
Doc: No la~ the baby's growth itself should be more than 1 lbs, so 4 lbs is ok
SC: ....*Extremely disappointed*

Me? If the nurse wasn't with me in the USG room, I would've done my little victory dance then and there :D

PS. Lil' SC is growing very well, his kicks are really strong, and his head is still up under my ribs...hopefully he'll flip in time for the birth. Wish us luck! :)

Joystick for XBOX & Super Street Fighter IV

SC's latest babies.
A Joystick for XBOX....

...to play Super Street Fighter IV.
He sucks at this game, but he'd be damned if he didn't buy it.

This means, until he lost to every single friend he plays with, I'd need to say goodbye to my TV.
:p

I absolutely love this vintage inspired Mickey Mouse tees from Uniqlo.
I wish I could buy all of them, all of them, all of them.
I guess I could, but SC was there, so I didn't ^_^'
I think by now you probably know that SC and I love sharing clothes.
So, I decided to buy boys tees instead of girls tiny version, so that we can share! Hurray!

How did we wear them?

...and bigger boys tee = more room for my growing tummy ^_^

SC, the Good Housekeeper

Some people find cleaning therapeutic.
Some people are even cleanoholics.
I am not some people, and neither is SC.

We're messy pigs.
The floor is being cleaned once a week, and prior to cleaning, it's covered with 10000000001 of hair and dust.

SC thinks I don't clean the floor well enough, so he insisted in taking charge of floor cleaning.
I'm not gonna argue with that :D
Best deal ever!

SC cleans the floor wearing my hair band, sometimes it's the sparkly silver, or the polka dotted pink, and this time, it's the lacy white one.

He enjoys listening to his favorite music (Ekin Cheng - I don't think he's proud of this) while cleaning.

...and sometimes he sings along, out loud, and out of tune ;)

God bless SC.

Cool Girls Play Video Games

I am not a cool girl.
As I previously mentioned, I don't play video games, and even if I want to, I just can't.
There is no single cell of talent in my body and soul for video games.
I suck. Big time.

To pay back sous chef's company when I watch my Monday and Tuesday girly drama series, I decided (after a few days of nagging from sous chef) to give Left for Dead, the zombie game, a try.

How did I suck?
First attempt (lasted a few minutes):
- I had absolutely no idea where I was or where I was going
- My brain could not coordinate two operating buttons (one controls where I go, one controls where I look)
- The whole time, I simply pointed my gun at the ceiling, wondering where was everybody
- There was absolutely no difference between me being in the game or me just holding the control without doing anything

Second attempt (15 minutes after first attempt, lasted a few minutes):
- I still had absolutely no idea where I was or where I was going
- I learnt how to look and walk a little in the game
- I spent most of the time getting stuck in a corner of a room, when everybody else were killing zombies outside (smart move)
- I discovered that my brain operates differently from sous chef's. When I pressed the button down, I thought I was moving my gun up. He operates the other way around
- I managed to shoot a couple of zombies dead, by pure luck
- I only spent 70% of my time pointing at the ceiling, the other 30% was spent pointing/looking at the ground

Third attempt (next day after 1st and 2nd attempt):
- SC taught me a critical point = look before moving
- I learnt how to look for SC in the game
- I walked/run better in the game
- I didn't point at the ceiling/floor that much
- I knew how to "grab" guns/stuff from the table
- I managed to shoot a couple of zombies, still by pure luck, pointed and shot my "gun" randomly
- I still had absolutely no idea where I was and what I was doing

Moral of the story:
I think SC learnt a valuable lesson:
Don't ask her to play, she is hopeless

I am not a cool girl, and proud of it :p

Boys Fashion - Summer Hats

Like most boys, sous chef hates shopping, and although he is fun to dress, I'd rather buy my own stuff than buying him clothes/accessories. No appreciation could result from that.

However, once he's into something, that's it.
Recently, he's into hooded tops and hats. So, he buys nothing but hooded tops and hats....and when he likes something, he is willing to spend quite a lot of money it.

I liked this top as it gives the illusion of layered tops. It's too hot and stuffy in Hong Kong to pull off a layered look, so this top is perfect. I thought that SC would just dismiss the idea, but to my surprise, he liked it, went ahead and bought it...along with 4 (that's FOUR!) other hooded tops (!!!)

Do I complain when I thought his purchases were unreasonable?
Hell no.
I was hoping that...in return, he won't complain about every single thing that I buy.

Silly me.
He still complains about every single purchase I made, even if the amount is nowhere near what he spends on his fancy pants. Next time, I should just nag the heck outta him.
Top = Prince Edward
Hat = Kwai Chung Plaza
Shorts = Bauhaus

Your Worst Nightmare, My Ultimate Fantasy - Life Is No Fair

*picture borrowed from Shigellavirus Infection*

Whoever did the above picture...GENIUS!

Although many of my friends and probably billions of fans worldwide would disagree or event fainted the moment they saw the above picture...but I kinda like the idea of my current hot idol fooling around with another boy ^_^

Staring admiringly into each other's eyes...
Fingers tracing each other's hands...
Moving strands of hair away from each other's face...
Faces get closer...
Hearts beat faster...
...
OK. I need more practice before I can write a good boy-to-boy porn, don't you think?

Call me a pervert :p, I like it!

It's my ultimate fantasy, while it's Athena's worst nightmare.

Call me silly, but knowing that there's something to look forward to every Monday and Tuesday 10.30pm at J2 always cheers up my start-of-the-week blues. Sous chef has been informed that the big TV shall be reserved within the specified periods for my hot boys gawking purposes. He can kill zombies with his friends the rest of the week.

Every happiness deserves to be shared, right? It is no fun screaming alone every time my hot idol appears on my large, high definition TV screen.

As my fellow hot guys worshippers aren't around every Monday and Tuesday, sous chef shall take their place and act as my girl friend.
I never expected him to admire the hot guys, I even felt happy when he gawk at the hot girls. Does he complain about having to watch the drama series with me?

You bet your ass he does.
Endlessly.

What do I say every time I receive a complaint?
Don't I deserve two hours of your life?

He didn't say anything to that.

But today....
He asked "Since you've asked me to watch the goddamn drama series with you, can I ask you to play video games with me?"

I was flabbergasted, but still, I said no :p

Love or not, I ain't fighting no zombies.
Life is unfair, eh?

Read Joe's creative answer when Athena asked him to watch the drama series with her.

Current Hot Topic - Boys over Flowers

OK. This is something I am not proud of, it took a lot of me to admit this in writing ^_^'

But, I am hooked on this cliche fairy-tale romance, Boys over Flowers.
It's a Korean version (yes it has been made into a few versions) of a Japanese manga, Hana Yori Dango. I won't talk about the story, if you're from Asia, you probably know it from the ever so popular Taiwanese version, Meteor Garden. If not, you can read all about it here.

(Remember these hotnesses?)

Yes, imagine me, an old hag, drooling, swooning, crying, laughing, gawking at a bunch of young boys. Arrrghhh. I didn't even wanna believe what I am saying.

But why?
A few reasons:
1. hot guys
2. fairy tale romance
3. eye candy set decor and costume
4. hot guys
5. entertainment value
6. hot guys
7. happy ending
8. hot guys

How hot exactly?

Sizzling. Don't you think?

But are we that shallow? Is physical beauty the only thing we're after?
Ehm, pretty much. Haha! Kidding. Maybe not the only thing, but it does play an important part in the commercial success of the series. Choose a bunch of ugly guys and let's see if they could earn a penny.

Sous chef could never understand why the heck girls (including old ladies) would fall for such a predictable story of a prince falling in love with a humble nobody.

I guess deep (deep deep DEEP) down inside, who doesn't dream of being loved by a prince-like character (tall, dark, handsome, smart, rich, and loving?). It's almost every little girl's dream (blame in on Disney)!

It's just like every little boy's dream to save the world with fantasy gadgets/robots, fighting enemies from galaxies far far away, with a hot love story with a sizzling hot girl on the side.

I guess we are all the same.

If sous chef loving the heroic character-gadgets-robots-world saving story-and-hot girl combo is considered normal, then so is my loving cheesy romance full of hot guys.

Now now now...we are not that shallow, we don't only love hotness. We love our hotnesses to come with certain characteristics.

I love below character the most, as he reminds me of the old sous chef.
Confident, straight to the point, knows exactly what he wants and willing to die going after it.
Don't we all love a character who's rough and mean to others, whose eyes only lights up when he sees the love of his life, whose sweet smiles and tenderness are only hers? Rough on the outside but tender on the inside, just like a piece of good steak ^_^
PS. Don't we love this character even more if they were played by actors who look like these guys?

(Jerry Yan - Taiwan's Daomingsi and Lee Min Ho - Korea's Gu Jun Pyo)

...and don't we all want a faithful admirer. A guy who will always stay by our side, who always helps, protects and comforts us when we're having a problem with the main star, who loves us no matter what, even if we don't love him back?
Wouldn't be even better if the guy plays various musical instruments and sometimes serenades us with his angelic-beautiful voice?
and ofcourse, it'd also be nice if the guy is drop dead gorgeous, like these guys...

Vic Zhou - Taiwan's Hua Ze Lei

Kim Hyun Joong - Korea's Yun Ji Hoo

Look at them! Young, chic and pretty. No wonder ladies go crazy about them.
How crazy exactly?
There are people who:
- want to get the exact phones they use in the series
- want to visit Korea (from countries far far away) just to watch their concert or get a glimpse of these guys
- are willing to pay for big bucks to attend a fan club meeting
The producers really know how to make money eh?

Am I one of them? Ehm, not yet.
I borrow the DVDs or watch the series from a FREE online streaming sites.
So much for a huge fan.

I spent my days chit chatting with my girlfriends about this current obsession (I consider those days well spent). Check out whom she drools at at her blog, Athena's Little C9 (the article is written in Chinese, but plenty of hot guys to gawk at).

His vs Hers - Scents which Made Me Go Hmmmm

Hers:
(clockwise from top left) Deep Red by Hugo Boss, Healing Garden's Green Tea Therapy body mist, GAP Scent "Dream", Kenzo Flower, Marc Jacobs' Blush, Acqua di Gio, Marc Jacobs, L'eau Par Kenzo
Total = 8 bottles

Normally, I am not a huge perfume fan. I'd buy a couple which I really love and stick with them for-almost-ever. But there was a short period of time when I was surrounded by perfume loving friends, I was indeed influenced (not in a negative way), and gathered quite a collection of scents. Now I am left with 8 bottles of scents, most of them almost empty. Time for spring scent shopping? Oh yeah. Let's see how sous chef's collection.

His:
(clockwise from top left) Body Shop's "Of A Man", Soul by Hugo Boss, L'eau d'Issey pour homme, Jazz by YSL, Tommy by Tommy Hilfiger, Chic for men by Carolina Herrera, Eternity Summer by Calvin Klein, Aigner, YSL Paris
Total = 9 bottles (WINNER!)

Quite an extensive collection of scents for a guy, eh? What is he? Metro? That was then, when he had to attract the ladies with some expensive scents. Now, he thinks that his natural scent, along with some garlic/onion scents from restaurant fumes = the sweetest scent in the universe. The 9 bottles...are pretty much abandoned.

Scents which Made Me Go Hmmm...
Summer

L'eau par Kenzo: I love that it is very light, refreshing, floral, watermelony and not citrusy. Citrusy scents smell like vinegar on me, especially in summer. Ew!

Blush by Marc Jacobs: It smells like jasmine in a wonderful way (not funeral-ish way), modern, young and expensive.

Winter

Marc Jacobs: it is rich, yet not overwhelming. Elegant, yet not old. It reminds me of home (I have a garden of tuberosa/bunga sedap malam at my rooftop back home in Indonesia), and it is super long lasting.

Scents for Men which Make Me Go Crazy
Crazy? How crazy? Ripping his clothes off? You wish. Haha
These scents attract me so much, they made me sniff around a bus to find the source of the scent, they made me follow the person with the scent without realizing it...they are DANGEROUS (at least for me)!

Of a Man, from The Body Shop: It is quite sweet, but still masculine. I guess only real men could pull this off ;)

Tommy by Tommy Hilfiger: This is the scent that totally kills me. Spray this on a frog and it'd look like a prince charming to me.

I told you it's dangerous.
