I Can Finally Write My Baby's Name! 外國人寫中文字
I don't speak Chinese (I am ashamed of this), and I surely can't write Chinese to save my life. But I wanted to know how to write baby Marcus' Chinese name. So, one fine day, I asked SC to show me how to write it step by step, I practice, and practiced, and practiced....and I finally got it right! I could write my son's name!
雖然我係華僑, 但係我唔識睇, 寫, 中文..但突然有一日, 周身痕想學寫傲B個名! 咁我就去叫SC教我啦, 罰抄左幾百次, 終於都寫到傲B同SC個名啦! (個日..)

Where are you originally from? You look very chinese and you are definitely chinese :-) I am also Chinese, born in Malaysia and live in Germany since 1999.
@P thanks for the encouragement...I have to keep practicing or I'll forget...
@Joyce I was born and raised in Indonesia :D I am of Chinese heritage but I grew up speaking Indonesian and Javanese :D
That must be an interesting migration from Indonesia to Hong Kong. I was in Jakarta between 1996 until the end of 1998 short after the ''revolution'' in which many Chinese were being hurt I was in Hong Kong for about two months. Then moved to Manila for about a year before I finanlly settled down in Germany since September 1999. I love Indonesia and Java, also Bali, Lombok and Padang in Sumatra. I can speak Malay, a bit Indonesian, I like the was the Indonesians speaks, it is like a melody.....
Your son is so adorable. How old is he now? Do you have a Profile by Facebook?
OMG! I was there too! My uni was just beside the uni where it all happened. We literally had to hide in our dorm's kitchen and hitched a ride with a friend who knows someone in the military to the airport to go back to my home city in central Java.
I do have an FB page, https://www.facebook.com/pages/Mochachocolata-Rita/188704807839307
Like us if you haven't ;)
I have experienced that horrible period of time in Jakarta, couldn't go out to shop for food etc. It was terrible. Otherwise, I love Jakarta so much, the whole of Indonesia actually, it is even better as my homecountry :-) That was a good life there for me. I hate Manila, so dirty and messy and so difficult to work with the local people there. Although they speak good English :-( Do you move to Hong Kong because of your husband? He looks so handsome like a model :-)
what is your email address? Perhaps will be easier for communication :-)
I was in central Java three times. I simply love the people there so much. I must cry as I was forced to leave Jakarta due to the revolution. I was really really sad to leave Indonesia.
I just know how to write my name, never occured to me to learn the kids' names! They have Chinese names given by the grandparents. I can't really read either though I worked in HK for 2.5 years! I did learn to recognize certain words and can fake speaking Cantonese like a local! Amazing that you ended up with a local born HK-Chinese. I did date a couple of guys when in HK but they spoke English really well.
