We went for another check up last Saturday...had my blood pressure and urine checked...everything's good...
...and then it was the time to step on the dreaded scale.
I gained another 5 lbs, doctor declared that it's normal and completely fine.
SC was again disappointed :D
...and the exciting bit...we get to see lil' SC through USG scanning.
Once I lied down on doctor's table...he took one look at my tummy and hit his forehead.
"Oh gosh! So big...you won't be able to deliver the baby normally" he said.
I was shocked...not sure if I should've been happy or...else?
He proceeded to scan and measure the baby's size...he's big.
His head and abdomen is that of a 35 weeks baby, while he's just at his 33+ week.
Doctor predicts that he could be more than 8lbs at birth, he suggested that I opt for C-section instead of normal delivery.
If I insisted on trying a normal delivery, he's fine with it, but here are the risks he told me:
- Baby's too big for my pelvis bone
- Baby's shoulder get stuck
- After a long painful hours of labour, I might end up having a C-section anyway
Ideally, SC and I would prefer a normal delivery...for faster recovery, etc, but more than anything, the baby's safety is our first priority.
I've been having sleepless nights thinking about this, and I've been reading numerous articles these last few days...there are so many articles suggesting that it is still possible for me to delivery normally, in fact, most of them do not recommend C-section, as well as labour induction and the use of pain-regulating medication during labour and it won't help me delivering the baby.
I began to suspect that my doctor was probably trying to convince me to opt for a C-section for his own convenience (scheduled delivery, no woman calling him in the middle of the night, screaming in pain...). But after consulting a few friends who experienced the same, I realized that I shouldn't have doubted my experienced doctor.
I've made up my mind. I'll follow my doctor's recommendation and do what's best for lil' SC.

good luck to you, SC and lil SC :)
Wow, look at that bump! Yikes! Good luck sweetheart, thinking of you!
Jax x
good luck! :) love your blogs by the way :)
Yay for healthy baby! My sis went through a similar thing - she really wanted a natural birth but for safety of her and baby they had a C-section. I guess the end result will be the same - a new person :)
I'm really sorry you won't be able to have the natural birth you wanted. But if it's any consolation, they say most women who have c-sections can still deliver naturally for the next birth.
Best of luck with the SC's! Try to relax and pamper yourself. :)
Good luck! You are putting your priorities in the right place. :) When is the due date?
Don't worry so much! Everything will turn out fine! All the best to your delivery!
I have no advice. Just hoping everything turns out OK for you and lil' SC.
All the best and God bless you, lil SC and SC! :)
